About
Aha, you'd like to know more about little me?
Well here is a massive page full of information for you to read at your leisure. I've tried to split it up so you can skip the bits you're not interested in.

The Company
This company is very much a one woman band, everything that's sold here has been hand crafted in my garage.
My plan when I started out was just to explore a hobby, get more skilled and to be able to make gifts for my friends and family. It has quickly spiralled into something I wish I was doing full time.
I started realising that my favourite pieces in my home are the ones that I could imagine the story behind, not the mass produced generic nonsense, but the items I or others had invested their time and passion into crafting. I wanted to give that to other people and for that to become my legacy.
And selfishly I wanted what I did day in day out to be making something I could put out in the world and be proud of. To know that people had something I'd made in their homes that brought the same smile to them as it brought to me.
I have so many ideas for the future and I'm so happy to have gotten started.

The Ivy
So who actually am I? Well firstly I'm surprised you're still reading
My name is Ivy Simpson, I'm 29, incredibly short and a total sawdust gremlin. I started life as an army brat and was lucky enough to have lived in 6 different countries and 5 different counties in England. It was certainly a unique upbringing and it gave me this fearless ambition and hunger for life. It taught me how to adapt and overcome many challenges.
I started my woodworking journey in 2017 as a student on an evening carpentry and joinery course. I spent 2 years learning the basics and falling in love with the craft with the ultimate goal of having the skill to build my own home one day. However, life took a bit of a turn and I had to down tools for a number of years as my living situation prevented me the space to make a mess.
Eventually I got myself situated in a position where I could have a garage, a dog, start building a toolkit and re-discovering the part of myself I lost. I've only been back at it for the best part of 2 years but every moment of it has been rewarding and reminded me of my true calling.

What does the future hold?
Wider range of hand crafted Items, more styles, running the business full time, creating opportunities for other passionate crafters like me to make a go of it.
Thank you so much for reading this far and showing my business this much attention, your time is very much appreciated and I hope you think of The Radwood Workshop next time you're looking for a gift or item for yourself.
